BC SPCAのコミュニケーション担当ゼネラルマネージャーのLorie Chortykさんによると、避難所の多くはすでに動物たちでいっぱいで、動物たちの新しい家を見つけたいとのことです。
また、「犬、猫、子犬、子猫、ウサギ、小動物、およびファームアニマル（馬を除く）のすべてのコンパニオンアニマルに50％オフの採用料金を提供しています」と語っています。
