2020年5月19日(火)よりBC州再開計画のフェーズ2が始まりました。

そんな中、以前カナダ連邦政府がカナダ全土のエッセンシャルサービス従事者の給与を引き上げる予定であることを発表したのを覚えているでしょうか？

そのサポートを受ける資格のある労働者と、彼らが受けるサポートの量は各州と準州に任されていましたが、ついに本日5月19日にBC州から詳細の発表がありました。

BC州政府が医療従事者＆ソーシャルワーカーの時給を4ドル・16週間の増額を発表

本日19日(火)、BC州政府からエッセンシャルサービス従事者の賃金引上げについて詳細が発表されました。

BC州は、新型コロナウイルスによるパンデミックの最前線で働くヘルス＆ソーシャルサービス従事者に向けて、給与を通じて一時的な財政的後押しをすることを決めました。

政府のニュースリリースに以下のように書かれていました。一部抜粋し、日本語に意訳してみました。

More than 250,000 eligible front-line workers will receive temporary pandemic pay, a lump-sum payment of about $4 per hour for a 16-week period, starting on March 15, 2020. Eligible workers will receive the payment directly through their employer and do not need to apply.

対象となる25万人以上のフロントラインで働くエッセンシャルサービス従事者は、2020年3月15日から開始される16週間の一時的なパンデミックペイメント、1時間あたり約4ドルを受け取ります。

この資格を持つ労働者は、雇用主を通じて直接支払いを受け取り、特別な申請をする必要はありません。

財政大臣の Carole James氏は今回の件に対し、「この連邦政府との費用分担プログラムは、ブリティッシュコロンビア州の第一線で働く何千もの医療従事者＆ソーシャルワーカーに利益をもたらします。」と語っています。

バンクーバーでは引き続き夜7時になると、フロントラインワーカーに向けて感謝の拍手を送っています。
