Stanley Park named world’s best park by travel website

It’s something Vancouverites have known for a long time, and now a major travel website says Stanley Park is the best park in the world.

TripAdvisor.com has released its list of the top landmarks and parks in the world and the 405-hectare public park, bordered by the world-renowned seawall, tops the list.

TripAdvisor.com は世界各地のランドマークや公園の格付けランキングを発表しました。この中で４０５ヘクタールの広さを誇り、世界的に有名な「SeaWall」に囲まれているスタンレー・パークがトップに輝きました。

和訳ポイント

1. have known（ハブ・ノーウン）

have known は「昔っから知っていた」と訳せます。似たような言い回しもフレーズで紹介します。

– how could you?! How long have you known?!
-「信じられない！どれぐらい前から知っていたの？！」
– I’ve known about it for a while now
-「だいぶ前から知っていたんだ」
– He couldn’t possibly not have known that!
-「彼が知らないかったわけがない！」

2. bordered（ボーダード）

bordered は「囲まれている」と訳せます。この場合、正確には公園のはじに沿って SeaWall があるですね。他の border の使い方も紹介します。
